81 mm German Mortar Replica

This is a full-scale replica of the German 81 mm Granatwerfer 34 mortar round, one of the most recognisable indirect-fire weapons of World War II. Used throughout the conflict by German infantry, the GrW 34 was known for its accuracy, reliability, and devastating impact — a defining piece of battlefield artillery. Presented on a custom made Totara plinth with inscription and certificate of authenticity. 

New Zealand 2-inch Mortar Bomb ( Approx. 1943)

This faithful display replica commemorates a small but significant part of New Zealand's wartime manufacturing history. During the Second World War, Mason & Porter Ltd. (later Masport) of Mt Wellington, Auckland, produced 2-inch mortar bomb bodies and other military equipment as part of the country's contribution to the Allied war effort. Again a 1:1 scale replica, mounted on a Totara plinth with inscription and certificate of authenticity (Wooden trunk not included).

Manufactured from a high-quality 3D model and carefully hand-finished, this non-functional replica accurately captures the external appearance of the original 1943 pattern. It is intended solely for historical display, education and private collections, making it an ideal piece for military historians, collectors, museums and families with a connection to New Zealand's wartime industries.

M49A2 60mm Mortar Round Replica 

The M49A2 60mm Mortar Round is one of the most recognisable infantry mortar rounds of the Cold War era. Designed for the American M2, M19 and later M224 60mm mortar systems, it served with United States and allied forces for decades, becoming a familiar sight in training and operational service around the world.

This highly detailed display replica faithfully reproduces the external appearance of the original M49A2 mortar round. Manufactured using precision 3D printing and individually hand-finished, it captures the distinctive proportions and features of this historic design while remaining completely inert and intended solely for display. Presented on a custom made Totara plinth with inscription and certificate of authenticity. 

Our reproductions capture the heritage in striking detail. Each round is designed, 3D printed, and hand-finished in New Zealand, then mounted on a solid Totara timber plinth, selected for its rich grain and enduring strength (one round per plinth base). The base features engraved detailing that complements the ordnance’s clean industrial lines — creating a display that feels both historical and modern.

The plinths measure approximately 360 mm long × 150 mm wide, and each round itself matches true 1:1 scale, providing a realistic presence without the danger of original materials. Every piece carries the Imperial Shell Works insignia as a mark of authenticity.
