M331A2 76mm Armour-Piercing Round
Developed for the 76mm M32 gun fitted to the American M41 Walker Bulldog light tank during the Cold War. Designed to defeat heavily armoured targets, it represented a significant advancement in anti-armour ammunition through the use of a discarding sabot and a dense tungsten penetrator.
Unlike conventional solid projectiles, the M331A2 used a lightweight sabot to allow a much smaller tungsten core to be fired at extremely high velocity. Upon leaving the barrel, the sabot separated from the projectile, allowing the tungsten penetrator to continue towards the target with maximum speed and energy. This concept would later evolve into the modern APDS and APFSDS ammunition used by tanks today.

Measuring 784.4 mm, we ship these in several parts to keep the postage costs reasonable. A careful application of superglue will finish the piece. You may wish to fill the piece full of clean sand to add more weight to the shell.
